Sites in Agra. Agra Fort (sometimes called the Red Fort), was commissioned
by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565, and is another of Agra's World
Heritage Sites. A stone tablet at the gate of the Fort states that it had been
built before 1000 but was later renovated by Akbar. The red sandstone fort
was converted into a palace during Shh Jahn's time, and reworked
extensively with marble and pietra dura inlay. Notable buildings in the fort
include the Pearl Mosque, the Dwn-e-'m and Dwn-e-Khs (halls of public and
private audience), Jahngr's Palace, Khs Mahal, Shsh Mahal (mirrored
palace), and the Musamman Burj. The fort is a typical example of Mughal
archi tecture, effect ively showing how the North Indian style of fort
construction differentiated from that of the South. In the South, the majority
forts were built on the seabed like the one at Bekal in Kerala. Overnight at

Day 3:
Agra
After breakfast visit Itmad-ud-daulla, also considered as Mini
Taj,the tomb of Mirza Ghiyas Beg. The tomb was build by his
daughter Nur Jahan, who was married to the Empror
Jahangir. Itmad-ud-daulla was the first Mughal structure
totally built from marble and the first to make extensive use of pietra dura, the
marble inlay work which is so characteristic of the Taj. Also visit Red Fort of
Agra constructed by Emperor Akbar in 1565, Afternoon free at the poolside or
for shopping. Overnight at the hotel.

Agra

Sawai Madhopur
After early breakfast leave for Ranthambhore National Park is
one of the prime examples of Project Tiger-s conservation
efforts in Rajasthan covering 400 sq. km area with 42 tigers.
The park offers the best possibility of seeing
Royal Bengal Tiger. En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri. This magnificent fortified
ghost city was the capital of the Mughal Empire between 1571 and 1585,
during the reign of Emperor Akbar. Overnight stay at Hotel.
