After breakfast drive to Pondicherry enroute sightseeing of
Chidambaram -9th Century Shiva Temple one of the oldest
and magnificent temples of the South. Shiva Natrala or the
Dancing Shiva stands in his cosmic dance pose in the
golden rooted sanctorum. Flanking the temple are 108 sculptured illustrations
of Bharat Natya Shashtra, Kumbakonam. On arrival Pondicherry check in at
Hotel. Overnight stay.

Morning excursion tour of Auroville and Sri Aurobindo
Ashram and explore the archaeological excavations and
French period furniture. Later drive to Chennai. On arrival
check in to Hotel. Overnight stay.

Full day for excursion to Kanchipuram Temple and covering
Mahishasurmardini caves in Mahabalipuram. Kanchi has
magnificent temples of unique architectural beauty, bearing
eloquent testimony to its glorious Dravidian heritage.Mahabal
ipuram lies on the Coromandel Coast which faces the Bay of Bengal. This is
an elegant place to watch which a well established sea port was during the
7th and 10th centuries of the Pallava dynasty. This was the second capital of
the Pallavas who ruled Kanchipuram. Formerly, mahabalipuram was known
and cal led as Mahabal ipuram. The former name of thi s place
‘Mahabalipuram’ has a history. A very rude cruel king Mahabali reined this
place and in a fierce battle king Mahabali was killed by Lord Vishnu and the
place was named after the dead, arrogant kind Mahabali.It was during the
reign of King Narasimha Varman I, the name Mahabalipuram was changed. It
was renamed mahabalipuram which is called till now. There is a story behind.
